Do I need antibiotics before dental work?

Patients who have had a shoulder replacement often ask if they should be taking antibiotics before dental work. In some cases, their dentist had recommended it. As pointed out in this article, there is no evidence to support the routine use of antibiotics before dental procedures in patients who have had a joint replacement.
