Amber "Nikki" Wills, Medical Assistant

Nikki has been with Dr. Carofino for the past 4 years and in orthopaedics for the past 10+ years. She is essential in running our clinic days with rooming patients, gather their information, prepping charts, fielding patient questions and helping code patient injuries.

Kat Caraway, Medical Secretary

Kat has been with Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists for several years and recently has joined Dr. Carofino's service at the start of 2023. Kat is our main contact for questions relating to surgey scheduling and follow up questions that she helps relay between providers and patients. Jennifer Rascoe, MSN, NP-C

Jenn is a local from the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads area. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her undergraduate degree in Nursing. She later returned to VCU where she completed her Masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner. She has been working with Dr. Carofino and Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists since 2015.

Patrick Rooney, MPA, PA-C

Patrick grew up in Virginia Beach and attended Tallwood High School.  He obtained his undergraduate degree at Radford University followed by his Master of Physician Assistant degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.  He has been with AOS since 2006 and a part of Dr. Carofino's team since 2020. Patrick is integral to the team seeing post-op patients and triaging patient follow-up care and concerns.

Amanda Justus, MPA, PA-C

A native of San Diego, California, Amanda now calls Virginia Beach home. She completed undergraduate work at Azusa Pacific University followed by Eastern Virginia Medical School where she obtained a Masters of Physician Assistant (MPA). Amanda joined Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists in 2015. As a Physician Assistant with Dr. Carofino, she sees patients with both acute and chronic upper extremity concerns, cares for patients during their pre- and post-operative course, and assists Dr. Carofino in surgery. In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. She can often be found outdoors at the beach, gardening, running or reading. 

Brice Snyder, MSAT, LAT, ATC, BCS-O

Brice is originally from the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. He graduated from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. He worked with local colleges and high schools throughout the Lehigh Valley. After graduating, he became a local to Virginia Beach while attending Old Dominion University for his graduate degree. He graduated from ODU with a Masters of Science in Athletic Training. Following graduation he completed an Athletic Training Fellowship at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado where he worked with world renowned orthopaedic surgeons. He currently assists with patient evaluations, surgical planning, post-op instructions, dictations, rehabilitation plans, communicating with patients from out of the area and with regional sports medicine providers, as well as coordinating clinical research projects. He has been working on Dr. Carofino's service since 2016. Brice is one of only a handful of Athletic Trainers in the Nation who hold their Board Certification Speciality credential in Orthopedics (BCS-O).
